Knee Power

TREASURE IT!

Have you ever considered that faith is a gift?

We all believe - or have faith - in something... or someone.
Throw-back to November last year, I ranted about not knowing how to "create my own beautiful world."

Today, six months forward, I still don't. But don't get me wrong. I have a better idea now than when I had back then.

When I blogged back in November, I was so desperate to make our home as habitable, baby-friendly and cat-cozy as it could be. With 7 cats and a baby on the way, I was so frustrated about having to choose between human beings and furry ones. I didn't want to choose.

December came and - call it divine providence - we found a better house to call our (temporary) home. A single-floor, 2-bedroom apartment with a garage and laundry area. Here's how I found it: Google.

The search didn't come easy. In fact, I was almost resigned to my fate, praying that if God wants us to stay in the 2-floor apartment we were in, then I had to make certain (uncomfortable) adjustments. I shouldn't let my pregnancy get in the way.

I was about to fall asleep that fateful wee-evening when I found the freshly updated ad. I took a screenshot and slept. Let Your will be done, dear God.

The next morning, I showed the screenshot to my husband and we contacted the owner. We made an appointment to visit the place, and we were even given a good rate! We moved in soon after.

Today, I am celebrating my 42nd birthday and my 36th week of pregnancy. My feet are a bit swollen, my husband and I have less than $100 in our pockets and it's 35 degrees inside the house. Talk about being one HOT momma!

As I look back at how our circumstances changed, I am learning that the blessing of God is not in a place but in His presence. Our perspectives may get influenced by what our physical eyes can see but the eyes of faith enable us to appreciate what we do have and respond in utter thankfulness - and humor!

As faith itself is a gift, my eyes of faith enable me to see TODAY for what it is: a gift to be treasured and celebrated. Because God is faithful.
